I Don’t Like It – Spring  

I don’t like it –

Spring –

with little birds singing

attempting to build

nests on my awning.

I don’t like it –

Spring –

with tulip bulbs blooming

fighting against nature

next to weeds thriving.

I don’t like it –

Spring –

with mister sun shining

waking me early

each day later setting.

 I don’t like it –

Spring –

with the neighborhood cleaning

washing their windows

while to winter I’m clinging.

I don’t like it –

Spring –

with its constant calling

nagging me to life

when I’d rather be sleeping.
